Here are some pictures from the year 2000. The collection is already quite large,
but there are still many pictures missing. In time I plan to add more pictures to this
archive.
Regular Joe
Just some guy I sketched in communications class one day. It's a messy
sketch, but I like the cut of his jib. I wish I could capture experession
like this in all of my drawings.

Pyslocke Poses
One of my Psylocke series of illustrations, based on a Superheroes trading
card. The colours are a bit washed-out on this, but I still think it's
quite nice!
|
Scary Fields
Something I did during class in my third year of University. Too bad it's
so messy, I think it's a very nice picture. Watch out for the little girl,
she's got razor-sharp teeth!

Cyclops
I got a book called Drawing and Cartooning Monsters by Tony Tallarico a while
back, and I spent a good chunk of 2000 going through it and doing quick
sketches from its pages. This is the only one I inked, I really like the shading.
|
Castle Guard A gigantic dragon rests atop a castle turret...this is another
sketch from Tony's book. I love the character and the sense of size in this one.
Just pencils.
|
The Summoning
A witch I drew based on Tony Tallarico's monster book. Again, I really like the
shading, it was one of the most valuable things I got from the book.
Done with pencils.

Playing With Fire
One of my ongoing (and painfully slow) series of Pyslocke drawings. Looking
back, the quality of my circles isn't very good, but the picture is quite
nice overall. Based on a 1993 trading card.
|
Alarum
In case you haven't guessed, I did an entire series of these song-based images.
This one isn't quite as polished as the other two, but I liked it. The lyrics
are from Alarum by the Tea Party, and they are not guaranteed to be accurate!
|
Sleep to Dream
Based on the song by Fiona Apple. This line is very cool - lots of conviction.
I always imagined it as a girl standing defiant against some degenerate (likely
male) force.
|
Law (Earthlings on Fire)
Based on a song by David Bowie. If you listen closely, it has a subtle lyric
hidden under the layers of noise, which is where this image comes from.
Incidentally, the smudged lines were a mistake, but they looked neat, so I
ran with it.
|
Hard at Work
Based on art from Harvest Moon 64 - this is NOT an original piece. But I did
draw it, and it's cute, so I decided to post it in the venerable scribbles
area.
|
Big Nose
Often, spontaneous sketches turn out really well, because one isn't as tense while working on them. This is a good example.
|
Anime
An anime-style girl I drew in class back in 2000, must have been thinking about
Pokemon. Kind of grubby, but it gives it a neat "weathered" look.
